Michael Shwarts

Michael is a Managing Director at Oberon, bringing over 25 years of investment banking and capital markets expertise. He has a distinguished track record in structuring, negotiating, and executing a broad range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and corporate financings. His experience spans venture capital, mezzanine, and conventional financings, as well as public offerings and private placements. While Michael possesses deep expertise across all sub-sectors of the healthcare industry, his transactional experience extends across consumer products and services, industrials, transportation, and technology.

Prior to joining Oberon, Michael founded and led the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets division at The Vertical Group, a full-service institutional broker-dealer, where he served as both Managing Director and Head of the Department. Previously, he was a Managing Director in the Investment Banking division at Dominick & Dominick LLC, where he was also a member of the firm’s Compensation Committee. Michael has held senior banking positions at Newbridge Securities and Himalaya Capital and previously served as Senior Vice President at Ladenburg Thalmann & Co., Inc. (NYSE MKT: LTS). Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from New York University.

John is a Managing Director with over 25 years of experience in investment banking and corporate development. John has focused on sell-side M&A and debt/equity raises to support transactions in industrial, consumer products, retail, technology and healthcare services. In the last ten years with Oberon, he has closed numerous transactions, many of which were with small and middle market companies with the unique needs of founders involved in their first process, serving as the steady guide through the process. Recent transactions include: the sale of a $50 million regional multigenerational ophthalmology/optometry practice to a strategic consolidator, the sale of a $45 million US touchscreen manufacturer to a large global HMI company, and the sale of a US based coffee roaster on behalf of its international parent to a local industry player.

Prior to joining Oberon, John was a senior banker in the investment banking departments of Deutsche Bank Securities, Dresdner Kleinwort Securities and UBS Warburg where he generated and executed transactions across the industrial, consumer products, retail, and technology sectors. John also served as the VP and Head of Corporate Development for an early stage renewable energy and feed company based in Florida as well as a Director at Valens Capital, a billion dollar hedge fund focused on providing debt and equity growth financing solutions to small cap public and private companies.

John earned his M.B.A. from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University and his B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Gigi is a Managing Director, bringing to Oberon over 20 years of combined energy and financial transactions expertise, involving private and public companies, providing restructuring, M&A, debt, and equity advisory for over $10 billion in transaction value.

Prior to joining Oberon, Gigi ran the investment banking division at Torino Capital for emerging markets and held leadership positions at the restructuring group at Houlihan Lokey and the leveraged finance, energy, and credit derivatives divisions at HSBC. Gigi started her career as an engineer for BP’s Argentinean affiliate Pan American Energy.

Gigi earned her M.B.A. in finance from Columbia University, and her M.Sc. in Oil & Gas Economics and Industrial Engineering degree from Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (I.T.B.A.)


Bill Getz

William (Bill) Getz is a seasoned investment banker having completed ~$150 billion in transactions over his 30+ year career. Bill has extensive experience in capital raising and advisory services across virtually all industries. Prior to joining Oberon Securities, Bill created and ran the debt advisory business for England & Company where he successfully closed ~$100 million in debt and equity financings for lower middle market companies.

Prior to England, Bill was a Portfolio Manager / Managing Director at Steele Creek Investment Management, the CLO affiliate of Moelis Asset Management and Atalaya Capital Management where he developed investment strategies in revolving credit facilities. Prior to Atalaya, Bill was a General Manager / Senior Managing Director at Mizuho where he created and ran the leveraged finance and financial sponsors businesses for Mizuho in the Americas. While at Mizuho, he oversaw a $4 billion portfolio consisting primarily of loans related to non-investment grade issuers, a $1 billion portfolio of private equity direct investments and was on several of the bank’s senior management committees in the Americas. Prior to Mizuho, Bill was a Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets and Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc.

Earlier in his career, he co-founded the Financial Sponsors Group at Lehman Brothers. Bill holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Delaware and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago. He is a CPA (inactive status), holds his Series 7 and 63 securities licenses (inactive status), and is a private pilot.

Gary is a Managing Director, bringing 30 years of broad finance experience to Oberon. His expertise includes investment banking services, investing as a private equity principal, and serving on six public Boards of Directors. Most recently, Gary was a Managing Director at Taylor Advisory, a boutique providing financial advisory services across multiple industries. Clients ranged from Fortune 50 to family owned in industrial, midstream energy, refining, FinTech, wastewater, specialty chemicals, hydro, and packaging in the US, Scandinavia, and South Africa. Prior to that, Gary provided M&A and advisory services in energy services in the US, Middle East, and Europe.

Gary’s largest transaction was the LBO of RJR Nabisco, however the bulk of his career was middle market for private and public clients. Working in private equity provided investment experience covering all levels of the capital structure, raising debt/equity, restructuring, buy and build, and dispositions. Gary’s 25-year service as a Board Member includes taking companies public/upgrading to larger exchanges, restructuring, recapitalizations, mergers and a broad spectrum of governance issues.

Gary has an M.B.A from Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business and B.A. in Economics and Business from Wheaton College. He also holds a continuing education certification from the Directors’ College at Stanford Law School.

Jeff Glasse, Managing Director, Debt Capital Markets at Oberon Securities, is a private credit and debt markets specialist with extensive experience raising debt and flexible private capital for growth stage, mid-cap, and large-cap companies. He has arranged direct loans, and has syndicated, sold, and traded loans with a broad range of bank and institutional/non-bank investors. Prior to Oberon, Jeff headed debt capital markets at Aegis Capital Corp. and headed the U.S. loan trading businesses of Barclays Capital, TD Securities, and a boutique broker dealer, among other leadership roles. Collectively, during Jeff’s tenure, these teams led over 400 new loan financings (raising over $200B for clients), traded tens of billions in performing and distressed loans, and achieved numerous top-10 market rankings.

At Oberon, Jeff advises companies on their debt-related needs, and raises capital for refinancings, growth, acquisitions, and other transactions. Jeff has relationships across an extensive investor network including banks, credit funds, hedge funds, specialty lenders, and major alternative investment managers.

Josh is a Managing Director bringing over 25 years of experience in investment banking to Oberon. Josh focuses on strategic M&A transactions (sell-sides and buy-sides) and debt and equity capital raises in diverse industry sectors including healthcare, consumer products, industrials, and technology.

Before joining Oberon, Josh was a Managing Director of Investment Banking with Morgan Stanley. Prior to that he worked as a Managing Director of Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch, and as a Principal in M&A at Wasserstein Perella & Co.. In addition to his advisory experience, Josh has served as a Managing Director with DRI, a royalty monetization private equity firm where he raised over $700 million in capital, completed numerous royalty transactions, and also served on the Investment Committee (IC). Prior to that Josh served as a Member of the Senior Management Forum of Eli Lilly, where he was SVP of Global Corporate Development with leadership responsibility for M&A, Global Licensing, and Lilly Ventures.

Justin, a Managing Director, brings a proven track record of success to Oberon, guiding clients through complex M&A transactions for the past 20 years. Throughout his career, he has advised senior executives of both public and private companies on deals with a combined value exceeding $60 billion. His diverse sector knowledge includes industrials, technology, consumer, chemicals, transportation and environmental services, with multiple closed M&A transactions in each. His expertise spans the M&A spectrum, encompassing corporate sales, divestitures, acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, mergers and tax-free reorganizations.

Prior to Oberon, Justin spent many years at large, market-leading investment banks. He began his career in the M&A group at Merrill Lynch, transitioning to Bank of America during its acquisition. Afterwards, he led transactions with a global reach in HSBC’s M&A group. Prior to investment banking, he held roles in public accounting and SEC reporting. Justin has an MBA from NYU Stern, a BS in Accountancy from the University of Illinois and is a former CPA.

Brandon is a Managing Director, bringing over 20 years of experience to Oberon. Brandon has over 20 years of corporate finance experience as both a principal investor and investment banker.

Prior to joining Oberon, Brandon was instrumental in closing more than 40 transactions with a notional value of more than $9.0 billion. Brandon has significant experience raising and investing private capital with companies in energy related sectors, including upstream and midstream oil and gas, oil field services, energy services, renewable energy, and alternative energy. He has also closed transactions in the health care, high-tech, and construction / facility services sectors. Brandon is a member of the Houston chapters of the IPAA and ACG. Nicole is a Managing Partner, co-founder of Oberon, and member of Oberon’s management committee, bringing more than 22 years of entrepreneurial experience and leadership to the firm. She spearheads Oberon’s consumer and retail group and is actively involved in the firm’s TMT practice.

Prior to co-founding Oberon in 2001, Nicole was a partner in Kentech Ventures, a software incubator. Before becoming a venture capitalist, Nicole spent more than 8 years as a senior equity analyst on both the buy-side and sell-side covering technology including Internet, e-commerce, enterprise software, contract manufacturing, and IT services; and pioneered the coverage of the Information Security space on Wall Street. Nicole is a lawyer and earned her B.A. in Political Science from New York University.

Yoav is a Partner and member of Oberon’s management committee. Yoav leads Oberon’s telecom, media and technology coverage, with a focus on Israeli companies. At Oberon, Yoav has consummated numerous M&A and financing transactions, and his clients included companies such as Priority Software, Matrix IFS, NTS Communications, Shoregroup, Xpress Retail, Vuance, and MTS.

Prior to joining Oberon in 2004, Yoav was a Vice President with the Technology Investment Banking Group at CIBC World Markets, where he initiated banking coverage of the telecom networking equipment and Voice over Packet sectors. While at CIBC, Yoav led the execution of numerous equity financings including IPOs, secondary offerings, private placements, and M&A transactions. Prior to joining the Technology Group, Yoav worked at CIBC’s Leveraged Finance Group where he executed various financing transactions such as high yield, mezzanine, and bank debt offerings; M&A; restructuring advisory assignments; and private equity investments. Yoav is a lawyer, having practiced for over a year with M. Seligman & Co. in Tel Aviv. He earned his M.B.A. from the Leonard N. Scott is a Managing Director, bringing more than 15 years of investment banking and commercial real estate experience to Oberon. Scott specializes in real estate investment banking, capital markets, and credit rating analysis.

Prior to joining Oberon, Scott was a partner at the middle-market real estate advisory firm Cadence Capital Group, where he was involved in advisory and capital raising engagements totaling over $900 million supporting a range of investment opportunities including acquisitions, note purchases and property development. Prior to Cadence, he was a key member of the Citigroup real estate investment banking team and instrumental in securitization and syndication of various secured high-yield and unsecured corporate debt commitments ranging from $50 million to over $5 billion. Scott’s earlier experience also includes positions in REIT and CMBS credit analysis at Standard & Poor’s, sell-side equity research at Macquarie Capital, acquisitions at Advanced Real Estate Services, and financing at BRT Realty Trust. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Monmouth Real Estate Investment Trust (NYSE: MNR) and is a Clinical Professor at the Schack Institute of Real Estate at New York University. Scott earned his M.S. in Real Estate Finance from New York University and his B.S. in Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of California, Riverside.

Chris is currently a partner at Nussbaum Yates Berg Klein and Wolpow LLP (NYBKW), a CPA firm, and was a founder and managing partner of Giffuni and Young CPA, P.C. which merged into NYBKW. He has advised numerous companies, both publicly traded and privately held, on a variety of financial, accounting, computer issues, and real estate. Chris has served on the Board of Directors of several public, private, and not-for-profit entities. He is an expert in M&A and represents clients in both buy-side and sell-side transactions. Frank is a Managing Director, bringing to Oberon 13 years of experience on Wall Street as an advisor, banker and third-party marketer. Frank consults with numerous market participants and observers, including many levels of government, family offices, and First Nations.

Prior to joining Oberon, Frank had been a senior principal at several asset management firms, including the Fairstream Fund, a global fund acquired by Nikko Asset Management in 2008. Frank began his Wall Street career at Deutsche Bank in 2001 as a quantitative researcher in foreign exchange and commodities. Frank is a former U.S. Army officer and earned his M.B.A. from Georgetown University and his B.S. in Mathematics from Tulane University.

Bill has also worked as the CFO of a private manufacturing company and a public sports event marketing company, both of which were sold. Andy is a Managing Director, bringing more than 30 years of Wall Street experience to Oberon. Andy specializes in the industrial sector, including machinery, building products and construction, environmental, metals, general manufacturing and distribution.

Prior to joining Oberon, Andy worked in corporate finance at Dillon Read, UBS, Houlihan Lokey and Morgan Joseph. He began as an equity research analyst at DLJ in 1982. He has executed $20 billion of transactions throughout his career including M&A, public and private debt and equity offerings, fairness opinions, and strategic advisory. Some of the notable transactions he has worked on include the sale of Silver Line Building Products to Andersen Windows & Doors, the divestiture of several business units from Waste Management, the initial public offerings of General Cable and Stericycle, and the cross-border acquisition of Walbro by TI Group plc. Andy earned his M.B.A., and his B.A. in Government and East Asian Studies from Harvard University.

John is a Managing Director, bringing expertise on the natural resources, renewable energy and infrastructure sectors to Oberon.

Prior to joining Oberon, he was a Principal at Vanwall Capital, a middle-market private equity fund, where he concentrated his efforts on sourcing and analyzing energy investment opportunities, negotiating with management and technical teams, and identifying macro trends that impacted the fund’s investment strategy. While at Vanwall, he was an important player on deal bids representing over $4 billion in total capital. Prior to Vanwall, John headed the energy equity research efforts for the North American arm of Mizuho Securities, with a focus on domestic and international E&P and LNG. Previously, John was a Managing Director at Global Hunter Securities and Ticonderoga Securities, boutique investment banks focused on natural resources. Over his 12 years with Redwood, Russ played a lead role in both managing the business as well as advising clients across a wide range of areas and transactions in the technology, IT services and digital media sectors. Prior to Redwood, Russ worked in JP Morgan’s Technology Investment Banking Group where he focused on communications equipment and software companies. Russ has also served as Director of Strategy and Corporate Development for Lucent Technologies. Russ began his banking career with Merrill Lynch’s Merger and Acquisitions Group in New York where he was a Vice President, involved in numerous domestic and cross-border M&A transactions.

Jeen Pae is a Managing Director with Oberon Securities. Previously, Jeen was a co-Founder and Senior Advisor to BlueSquare Capital. Jeen has over 25 years across a wide range of experience in investment banking and the software industry completing domestic and cross border transactions worth over $6 billion. He focuses on emerging growth businesses in enterprise software (cloud, infrastructure and applications), IT and managed services, and has experience across the technology landscape. Client transactions include M&A deals with BMC, Oracle, Cisco and Cognizant.

Jeen was a Founder and Partner with Redwood Capital (now Drake Star), a boutique investment banking firm and led the firm’s software and IT services practices. Prior to Redwood, Jeen worked in JPMorgan’s Technology Investment Banking Group, where he advised IT Services companies on IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and capital raising. Prior to JPMorgan, Jeen was part of Credit Suisse’s Leveraged Finance Group where he was responsible for execution of LBO, M&A and equity transactions for financial sponsor clients. Early in his career, Jeen led a software product development team in the Applications Division and led consulting teams in the Professional Services Division at Oracle Corporation.

Prior to joining Oberon, Ulf was a Senior Advisor in the Alantra Technology Investment Banking team; founded CrossBorder Venture Partners, a boutique corporate development and corporate finance consulting firm; and was the U.S. Partner at Cartagena Capital an international technology focused boutique investment bank. Further, he did cross-border M&A at Trenwith Securities (now BDO Capital); cross-border M&A at Fredericks Michael & Co.; and Technology Investment Banking at UBS in London. Stephen Levitan, CFA, has over 40 years’ experience as an investment banker, research analyst, capital markets professional and investor.
